Children are very important at Woodlake. We strive to have or participate in meaningful
activities and programs that teach them basic Biblical principals. Below you will find some of
our regular activities for children. We also have a Vacation Bible School each year and
provide the opportunity for children to attend Children's Camp during the summer.
Sunday mornings are great fun for our children. We have a Sunday School
class for everyone. Even the little ones in the nursery hear a Bible story
and have fun activities to do. Each class is a little different, just like the
kids in them. Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m.
Sunday School
We encourage parents and children to worship and grow together. We seek to include
our children in worship by having a time for them at the beginning of the service.
Children are given the opportunity to go to the front of the sanctuary and listen to a
short message, just for them.

Following the Children's sermon, children will receive a special bulletin just for them
and a small pouch of crayons. Children are encouraged to participate in the singing then
listen to the sermon and write down something they hear or draw a picture of what the
pastor is talking about. There are other activities in the bulletin as well. At the end of
the service the crayons are returned, and if they like, the children may return the
bulletin so the pastor may see their comments and works of art!

GA's and RA's for boys and girls in grades 1-6:

At 7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, the same time the adults are having Prayer
Meeting and Bible Study, our 1-6 graders are learning about missionaries
and mission fields all around the world. We have Girls in Action (GAs) for
the girls and Royal Ambassadors (RAs) for the boys.

Each month the GAs and RAs learn about a different country, it's people
how they live. They will learn about a missionary from that country and
their family. Each group has different and unique activities that they do as
well as mission projects to help others.

Wednesday Children's Missions Activities
Mission Friends for pre-schoolers:

Mission Friends is a missions education program for younger children (boys &
girls) who are kindergarten age and younger. The primary objective of Mission
Friends is to provide a strong foundation for preschoolers in a Christian and
missions lifestyle.

Mission Friends provides developmentally appropriate missions learning
experiences to help preschoolers move from a self-centered focus to a focus on
others, to become aware that not everyone knows about God's love, and to
understand ways they can help others know about this good news!
One Voice Choir is for children and teens, grades 1-12. Rehearsals are
Wednesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. Members will learn the basics of singing and
music. They will gain confidence as they present special music during worship
services and musicals for special occasions. One Voice choir is fun yet requires
commitment and dedication from members (and parents). Occasionally
additional rehearsals are required.

Parents will have the opportunity to help, if they like, with costumes, props
and back-drops for musicals. If you would like more information, please contact
our Minister of Music & Worship, Chuck Philips (cphilips@wbcsatx.org).
